COUNCILLOR McCARTHY'S GOAL IS TO HAVE
THE CITY COUNCIL TREAT THE BUDGETS AS YOU WOULD A BUSINESS. IN HER
VIEW THERE IS TOO MUCH CATERING TO SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS, LOBBYISTS
AND PET PROJECTS THAT HAVE ABSORBED TOO MANY TAX DOLLARS. SHE
CONTINUES TO STRIVE FOR TAX FAIRNESS SO THAT THERE ISN'T A CONTINUAL
ONGOING OPERATING DRAIN TO THE RESIDENTIAL TAXPAYERS.
01/12/10 - Stan Haworth Budget Presentation to Hamilton City Council Councillor
McCarthy Quote: "1.7% tax increase is the lowest since
amalgamation and one of the lowest in the entire Province. It was
the best that I could get. This is just the second time since
Flamborough's amalgamation with Hamilton in 2001 that I have support
the City's budget."
11/7/08-Quote from Mountain News:
Politicians, including Flamborough Councillor Margaret McCarthy, who
always wants to save money, were opposed to changing the waste
collection system again." 11/29/1999 - Copy of the Ontario Lottery Corporation Contract with Respect to the Flamboro Slots Revenue
