Mayor Eisenberger and Councillors move out of City Hall
HAMILTON,
ON – September 14, 2007 – This weekend, the offices of Mayor
Eisenberger and Council will be moved over to their new office space in
Suite 230 at the Hamilton City Centre. While City Hall is
revitalized, all City Hall services will be temporarily relocated to
the City Centre, located at 77 James Street North.
This marks
the final phase of the move out of City Hall. The vacant building will
be decommissioned this fall with construction expected to begin in
early 2008.
City Council & Committee Meetings will be held
in the Hamilton Convention Centre while City Hall is renovated. The
first City Council meeting will take place on September 26th in the
Albion Room on the second floor.
Visitors to the Council and
Committee meetings may enjoy free parking after 6:00 p.m. at most
downtown on-street metered parking. There are parking meters available
on King Street between James Street and Bay Street and on Main Street
in front of Hamilton Place. Public parking is still available
behind City hall at this time.
City staff who have been moved out of City Hall, can now be found at the following locations in the City Centre:
